Everything you need to know about our programs, admissions, and what to expect.
Basic computer literacy and a passion for cybersecurity are the main requirements. For offensive tracks, familiarity with Linux command line is helpful but not mandatory — we cover fundamentals in Week 1. For the SOC track, basic networking knowledge is beneficial. We assess each applicant individually and provide prep materials if needed.
Yes, all our core programs (Penetration Testing, Ethical Hacking, SOC, and combined tracks) are fully offline at our Hyderabad facility. The only exception is our DevSecOps on GCP program, which is delivered online for corporate clients. We believe hands-on lab work is best done in person with direct instructor access.
Unlike traditional programs that add internships after completion, your internship at Root Access Labs starts from Day 1. You'll work on real projects, participate in actual security assessments (under supervision), and build a portfolio of client-grade deliverables. By graduation, you'll have 3-6 months of documented experience.
Our programs are aligned with industry certifications: Penetration Testing prepares you for eJPT, OSCP, CEH, and BSCP. Ethical Hacking targets CRTE, eCPTXv2, and PNPT. SOC training aligns with Security+, BTL1, SC-200, and CySA+. We provide exam prep guidance but certification exam fees are separate.
We keep cohorts small — typically 12-16 students per batch. This ensures personalized attention, sufficient lab resources for everyone, and meaningful instructor interaction. Quality over quantity is our approach.
Yes, we provide comprehensive placement support including resume building, interview preparation, and connections to our hiring partner network. Our graduates work at security consulting firms, enterprise SOCs, and tech companies. However, we don't guarantee placement — your effort and skill development matter.
Track switching is possible within the first two weeks if you realize another path suits you better. After that, we recommend completing your current track first. Many students return for additional tracks after completing their first program.
Bring a laptop with minimum 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. We recommend Linux (Ubuntu/Kali) as your primary OS, but Windows with WSL2 works too. All specialized lab infrastructure, vulnerable machines, and tool licenses are provided by us.
We offer need-based scholarships for exceptional candidates and flexible payment plans. Contact our admissions team to discuss your situation. We believe financial constraints shouldn't prevent talented individuals from learning security.
Three things: First, our lab-first approach means 4-5 hours daily on real systems, not video lectures. Second, you're learning alongside peers and instructors who actively work in security. Third, you leave with real deliverables — VAPT reports, detection rules, and documented experience that employers value.
